Workshop Overview

At last year's AIS ICT conference at Knox and also the ISTE 2012 conference in Sand Diego this year I attended workshops which had student presenters. At these sessions a variety of students discussed their experiences in the classroom on a number of different projects. The honesty and knowledge with which the students spoke was inspiring and made me think about how I deliver my own classes. During this session the participants will have the opportunity to interact with four small groups of students who will discuss projects which have used Information Technology to produce student work. They will share their journey and reflections, not just the finished products, and how they grew as learners through using technology as a creative tool for publishing their work.
The four projects which will be discussed by the boys:
  • digital picture books using Pages
  • digital picture books using Creative Book Builder
  • literacy circles on the IPad
  • creating digital travel brochures using iBooks Author

Throughout the session you will rotate through the four groups and the boys will discuss their learning journey with you.

I will also try and upload some examples of student work. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me via email

Please bring along an Ipad or similar device. Join in the discussion at TodaysMeet or follow me on Twitter at liam_muller.

I would recommend you also bring along some questions from your own students and share with the boys during the session.

I am currently a Year 6 Teacher at Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview. I love having the opportunity to share in the learning with the students in the class and using technology as a big part of this. Outside of school I am a big rugby union fan (Reds and Wallabies), love cooking, reading and travelling.
